Job Summary
The Operations Supervisor will support major offshore development projects, ensuring new production facilities are designed, constructed, commissioned, and integrated with existing operations in a safe, reliable, operable, and maintainable manner.
The role will work closely with Project, EPCIC Contractor, Commissioning, Engineering, and Field Operations teams throughout detailed engineering, construction, commissioning, handover, and start-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure operability, maintainability, reliability, and operational safety requirements are incorporated throughout project execution.
- Support the successful integration of new equipment and facilities into existing offshore production operations.
- Provide operational input and recommendations to Project, Engineering, Commissioning, and EPCIC Contractor teams.
- Ensure HSE is given the highest priority throughout all project activities.
- Support and enforce the project HSEQ management system, including objectives, plans, procedures, specifications, and requirements.
- Promote strong HSEQ performance across project teams and contractors through site engagement, meetings, inspections, and proactive intervention.
- Monitor work activities and ensure operational and construction risks are properly identified and assessed before execution.
- Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, Project Risk Studies, Job Risk Assessments, and other project safety and risk reviews.
- Participate in 3D model reviews and provide operational input into installation and construction activities.
- Contribute to operability and maintainability studies and ensure recommendations are incorporated into project execution.
- Support key maintenance and integrity engineering processes associated with new facilities.
- Interface closely with the Commissioning Manager and Site Commissioning Teams to facilitate safe and efficient offshore execution.
- Support the development and review of operating procedures for new facilities, ensuring they are fit for purpose and aligned with existing field operating practices.
- Identify operational training requirements associated with new facilities and support the development and delivery of appropriate training to Field Operations personnel.
- Represent Field Operations during Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) for selected critical equipment.
- Review project design requirements against existing field constraints, bottlenecks, and planned debottlenecking activities.
- Ensure project design solutions are compatible with existing offshore facilities and operating requirements.
- Supervise Site Operations teams during installation, commissioning, start-up, and associated offshore activities.
- Support system handover and operational readiness activities prior to start-up.
- Deputise for the Field Operations Lead when required.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams covering production, process, flow assurance, commissioning, maintenance, and operations.
- Provide operational support across multiple projects being executed concurrently.
- Prepare lessons learned and Return of Experience (REX) documentation following project execution.
- Undertake frequent assignments to EPCIC Contractor, fabrication, vendor, and offshore locations as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline.
- Strong Operations background with practical field experience.
- Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience gained across Production Operations and project-related positions.
- Previous experience supporting offshore oil and gas production facilities is preferred.
- Experience supporting projects through detailed engineering, construction, commissioning, handover, and start-up phases is advantageous.
- Good understanding of production operations and offshore facility integration.
- Familiarity with Production, Process, and Flow Assurance Engineering.
- Experience participating in HAZOP, HAZID, risk assessment, operability, and maintainability reviews.
- Understanding of operational readiness, commissioning, and start-up requirements.
- Familiarity with applicable oil and gas industry codes, standards, and operating practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication, coordination, and cross-functional working skills.
- Ability to work effectively within complex, multidisciplinary, and multicultural project environments.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Computer literate.
- Willing and able to undertake frequent travel to contractor and vendor locations and offshore facilities.
- H2S, OPITO and T-BOSIET training/certification as required for offshore assignments.
