Campaign & Shutdown Supervisor

Working Location

Offshore, Doha, Qatar

Trips to onshore facilities and visits to service company workshops required on an ad-hoc basis.

Contract Type

Contract (Rotation: 28 days on / 28 days off)

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with incident-free culture, health, safety, and environmental policies to deliver an incident-free shutdown.
  • Manage pre-work, preparation, and execution phases of campaigns/shutdowns in line with company standards and procedures.
  • Collate all information into a comprehensive board and communicate with onshore coordinators for execution readiness.
  • Implement necessary actions to achieve set objectives and support the Offshore Installation Manager with detailed execution plans.
  • Provide daily reports to and via the campaign & shutdown coordinator.
  • Manage contractor resources to ensure safe and reliable delivery of activities.
  • Contribute to level 4 planning activities to maintain critical project paths.
  • Coordinate and supervise annual campaigns and shutdowns, adhering to management procedures.
  • Report campaign/shutdown preparations and progress according to procedure.
  • Liaise with onshore coordinators regarding any issues during execution phases.
  • Maintain a cost-conscious mindset for each campaign/shutdown and ensure the efficiency of plans.
  • Coordinate interfaces with internal teams (production, inspection, maintenance, engineering, HSE, contracts, procurement, drilling, logistics) and external parties (contractors, service and equipment vendors).

HSE Activities

  • Adhere to company HSE policies, contributing to the campaign/shutdown objectives.
  • Develop campaign HSE organization plans with the Offshore Installation Manager and HSE advisor.
  • Ensure timely preparation and validation of Job Safety Analyses.
  • Participate in kick-off and preparation meetings; prepare campaign boundaries and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Conduct daily safety tours, toolbox talks, and timely reporting of safety issues.
  • Manage campaign/shutdown preparation action tracker and ensure target completion.
  • Support continuous development and implementation of management processes for campaigns/shutdowns.

Campaign/Shutdown Scope of Work

  • Identify campaign/shutdown work scopes in conjunction with onshore coordinators and participate in scope challenge sessions.
  • Update master work lists and ensure comprehensive preparation of work orders before scope freeze dates.
  • Prioritize tasks and suggest modifications for achievable work scopes.
  • Compile integrated campaign plans for planned activities.

Work Preparation

  • Coordinate work pack preparation for inspections and repairs, including site validation of isolation and spading.
  • Promote collaboration with stakeholders and contractors to achieve objectives.
  • Ensure required procedures are prepared and validated according to processes.
  • Identify requirements for external services and initiate procurement as needed.
  • Organize site surveys and maintain the lessons learned register.

Logistics, Materials, Contracts

  • Ensure all equipment, materials, consumables, and spares are identified and tracked for availability.
  • Manage mobilization of materials, equipment, and personnel as planned.

Planning

  • Support the preparation of campaign schedules and ensure comprehensive mobilization and demobilization plans.
  • Participate in and provide input for 2-year to 4-month campaign planning cycles and work lists.
  • Monitor manpower and accommodation requirements, including supervision and specialist support.

Post-campaign Activities

  • Compile campaign execution data and contribute to close-out reports and lessons learned meetings.
  • Ensure completion and closure of all work orders and archive campaign/shutdown preparation documentation.

Context and Environment

This role operates within a joint venture oil and gas facility with both offshore and onshore (non-producing) sites. The position is part of a permanent offshore team and requires periodic travel to onshore locations and service company workshops.

Requirements

  • BSc or equivalent engineering degree, or relevant industry experience in oil and gas operations.
  • Advanced skills and knowledge in campaign/shutdown management, ideally in petrochemical, refining, oil & gas exploration, or production industries.
  • Familiarity with planning software tools such as Primavera P6 and MS Project.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and communication abilities.
  • Solid leadership skills with the capacity to work in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments.
  • Fluency in English, including technical vocabulary.
  • Self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient user of SAP Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Medically fit to work offshore on oil and gas platforms.
