Position Overview
The Buildings Supervisor is responsible for the safe, timely, and high-quality execution of all commercial and industrial building construction activities within a large-scale EPC project environment. Acting as the primary site representative for building works, the role oversees subcontracted construction contractors and ensures full compliance with project specifications, German regulations, health and safety requirements, and client standards. This position requires strong expertise in subcontractor management, HSE compliance, quality assurance, progress monitoring, and multidisciplinary building systems coordination. Experience may be gained across industrial, commercial, or residential construction sectors.
Key Responsibilities

Construction Supervision:
- Supervise all building-related construction activities, including structural and architectural works, building envelope and cladding systems, HVAC and mechanical building services, electrical distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems, fire detection, fire protection, and life safety systems, building fit-out, finishes, and interior works.
- Ensure all construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved project documentation.
- Monitor daily site activities and verify compliance with project schedules and milestones.

Contractor & Subcontractor Management:
- Manage and coordinate building construction subcontractors to achieve project safety, quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
- Review contractor performance and implement corrective actions when required.
- Facilitate effective communication between contractors, project teams, and client representatives.
- Ensure adequate resource allocation and productivity throughout project execution.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE):
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all building construction activities.
- Conduct site safety inspections and observations.
- Ensure all subcontractors comply with HSE standards and procedures.
- Review and approve Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and Safe Work Practices before execution.

Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Perform regular inspections to verify workmanship and compliance with project specifications.
- Ensure all works comply with German building regulations, permitting requirements, and applicable industry standards.
- Review Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and quality documentation.
- Identify and resolve quality issues in a timely manner.

Planning & Progress Monitoring:
- Monitor construction progress and productivity against project schedules.
- Prepare regular progress reports highlighting milestones, constraints, risks, and recovery plans.
- Support project controls and planning teams with accurate site reporting.

Multidisciplinary Coordination:
- Coordinate interfaces between building works and other project disciplines including civil, structural, electrical, instrumentation, and process facilities.
- Support commissioning, testing, handover, and close-out activities for building systems and infrastructure.
Qualifications & Experience
- Technical qualification in Construction, Civil Engineering, Building Services, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience supervising industrial, commercial, or large infrastructure building projects.
- Strong understanding of EPC project execution and construction site management.
- Demonstrated experience managing subcontractors, quality control processes, construction schedules, and HSE compliance.
- Strong knowledge of building fit-out and finishing works, cladding and building envelope systems, HVAC and mechanical services, electrical building systems, fire protection and life safety systems.
- Experience working in multinational project environments is highly desirable.
Language Requirements
- Fluent German (mandatory).
- Working knowledge of English for project communication and reporting.
