Subsea Controls Engineer

Working Location: Qatar
Contract Type: 12 month contract

Job Purpose

Responsible for the integrity and performance of subsea control systems across offshore production assets, through design review, commissioning and operational support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the subsea control system philosophy and its periodic review.
  • Review SIIS and SEM designs against project specifications.
  • Support hydraulic and electrical umbilical testing campaigns.
  • Carry out obsolescence assessments on installed control hardware.
  • Prepare technical cases for regulatory and class submission.
  • Provide regular reports to the engineering management team.
  • Mentor graduate engineers within the subsea team.

Requirements

  • BEng or MSc in Electrical, Control or Subsea Engineering.
  • Minimum 7 years in subsea controls within oil and gas.
  • Chartered Engineer status with IET or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of API 17F and ISO 13628.
  • Offshore survival certification (BOSIET), or willingness to obtain one.

The successful candidate will be based in Qatar, with periodic offshore visits of up to five days.
