Survey Manager / Engineer

Role Purpose
The Survey Manager / Engineer will lead and coordinate the safe, controlled and efficient delivery of complex energy engineering and construction activities from a Kuala Lumpur base, working across multidisciplinary office, fabrication, marine and field interfaces as required. The role carries accountability for reliable execution within its discipline, timely coordination with stakeholders, and maintenance of clear, auditable records.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and assure survey activities supporting offshore installation, positioning, route verification and as-built requirements.
- Review survey procedures, equipment spreads, calibrations, data quality and deliverables.
- Coordinate interfaces between survey contractors, vessels, engineering and installation teams.
- Ensure survey data is processed, checked, reported and archived in accordance with project requirements.
- Lead or provide senior technical oversight of offshore survey planning, positioning, data acquisition and reporting.
- Assure survey contractor performance, equipment readiness and integrity of positioning/as-built deliverables.
- Participate in planning, coordination and progress meetings and provide concise status, risk and action updates.
- Apply document control, change management and approval requirements and maintain records suitable for audit and handover.
- Work in accordance with applicable HSE, quality, ethics and compliance requirements, escalating concerns promptly.
Qualifications & Experience
- Surveying, geomatics, hydrographic or engineering qualification with offshore survey and positioning experience.
- Typically 8+ years of relevant experience, including leadership of complex interfaces or work scopes.
- Experience in offshore energy, EPC/EPCIC, transportation and installation, fabrication or marine construction environments is strongly preferred where relevant to the role.
- Strong written and spoken English; ability to work effectively in a multicultural, multidisciplinary environment.

Additional Requirements
- Based in Kuala Lumpur with flexibility to travel to yards, ports, vessels, offshore locations or supplier premises when the assignment requires.
- Able to work to project deadlines and, where operationally necessary, support extended hours, mobilisation windows or offshore rotations.
- Any offshore medical, safety training, professional certification or competency requirement will depend on the final work scope and mobilisation location.
