Subcontract Buyer 2

Role Purpose
The Subcontract Buyer 2 will support the safe, controlled and efficient delivery of complex energy engineering and construction activities from a Kuala Lumpur base, working across multidisciplinary office, fabrication, marine and field interfaces as required. The role is accountable for reliable execution within its discipline, timely coordination with stakeholders, and maintenance of clear, auditable records.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the full subcontract lifecycle including sourcing, tendering, commercial evaluation, award, administration and close-out.
- Maintain subcontract documentation, correspondence, variations, claims records, securities and payment support.
- Coordinate with technical, legal, finance, project controls and package teams on commercial and contractual matters.
- Identify commercial exposure early and maintain auditable records supporting decisions and negotiations.
- Manage defined subcontract packages from enquiry through award, including commercial evaluation and negotiation.
- Coordinate technical and commercial clarifications and prepare award documentation.
- Participate in planning, coordination and progress meetings and provide concise status, risk and action updates.
- Apply document control, change management and approval requirements and maintain records suitable for audit and handover.
- Work in accordance with applicable HSE, quality, ethics and compliance requirements, escalating concerns promptly.
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in commercial, quantity surveying, supply chain, business, engineering or a related discipline, with relevant subcontracting experience.
- Typically 3-7 years of relevant experience, adjusted for the complexity and seniority of the assignment.
- Experience in offshore energy, EPC/EPCIC, transportation and installation, fabrication or marine construction environments is strongly preferred where relevant to the role.
- Strong written and spoken English; ability to work effectively in a multicultural, multidisciplinary environment.

Additional Requirements
- Based in Kuala Lumpur with flexibility to travel to yards, ports, vessels, offshore locations or supplier premises when the assignment requires.
- Able to work to project deadlines and, where operationally necessary, support extended hours, mobilisation windows or offshore rotations.
- Any offshore medical, safety training, professional certification or competency requirement will depend on the final work scope and mobilisation location.
