Stinger Supervisor
Job Purpose
Responsible for the optimum operation, maintenance and repair of all types of stinger equipment.
Principal Accountabilities
- Responsible for operation and maintenance of the stinger on board the barge
- Ensure that a complete and up-to-date inventory of available spare items and equipment is always maintained
- Check that all items and accessories required for the stinger are available on board the barge and ensure that the stinger equipment is correctly set up
- Keep a well-documented log of all activities which are mobilized with Stinger Technicians
- Supervise the dismantling, demobilization and maintenance of the stinger equipment during the idle period
- Maintain a log of equipment condition before and after stinger activities to record and indicate specific equipment that requires maintenance works
- Take necessary action to establish a safe working environment
- In the event of an emergency where potential risk is involved, carry out the stinger operation in an appropriate manner ensuring safety of the crew
- Train and develop the crew in the operation, maintenance and repair of stinger equipment
- Ensure compliance with company codes and HSE standards
Educational Qualifications and Certifications
- Secondary School Certificate with a discipline-specific technical qualification, or equivalent
Relevant Experience
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry
