Hydraulic Hammer Supervisor
Job Purpose
Responsible for the optimum operation, maintenance and repair of all types of hydraulic hammers and power packs/equipment.
Principal Accountabilities
- Train and develop the crew in the operation, maintenance and repair of hydraulic hammers and power packs/equipment.
- Report detailed job activities to the Barge Foreman on a daily basis.
- Ensure a complete and up to date inventory of available spare items and equipment is always maintained.
- Check that all the items and accessories required for the hammers are available on board the barge and ensure that the hammers are correctly set up, hoses are connected and umbilical cables are ready to use.
- Keep a well documented log of all activities which are mobilized with hammers.
- Supervise the dismantling and demobilization of the hammer equipment and its maintenance during idle periods.
- Maintain a log of equipment condition before and after piling activities to record and indicate specific equipment that requires maintenance works.
- Liaise regularly with the Chief Mechanic to ensure the timely inspection and maintenance of equipment.
- Take necessary actions to establish a safe working environment.
- In the event of an emergency where potential risk is involved, carry out the hammering operation in an appropriate manner ensuring the safety of the crew.
- Ensure full compliance with company codes and HSE standards.
Educational Qualifications and Certifications
- Secondary School Certificate with a discipline specific technical qualification, or equivalent.
Relevant Experience
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry.
Competencies
- Good English language skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Proven supervisory skills.
- Knowledge of all offshore safety training requirements.
