Overview
An opportunity is available for experienced Senior Mechanical Engineers to support in-house engineering activities on major oil and gas projects in Qatar. This role focuses on detailed design and FEED execution, with a strong emphasis on rotating equipment within upstream and midstream facilities.
You will be part of an engineering team delivering high-quality mechanical design solutions in line with international standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical engineering design activities for FEED and detailed design phases
- Support design and specification of rotating equipment including compressors and pumps
- Review and interpret engineering standards, codes, and project specifications
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Provide technical input into design reviews and engineering deliverables
- Support vendor data review and technical evaluations
- Contribute to engineering documentation and reporting
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university
- Minimum 12 years of experience in mechanical engineering within oil and gas
- Strong experience in FEED and detailed design projects
- Experience across both onshore and offshore projects
- Strong knowledge of mechanical standards, codes, and specifications
- Experience as a Rotating Equipment Engineer, particularly with gas turbines, is advantageous
- Strong experience with compressors and pumps
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team
