Senior Control Systems Engineer

Contract Type
Two (2) years initial contract with a possibility of extension.

Working Location
Onshore (Ras Laffan / Doha HQ)

Work Schedule
8-10 hours per day from Sunday to Thursday
12 Weeks ON / 2 Weeks OFF (for Single Status)
30 days annually (for Couple Status)

Job Purpose
Advise and support Control Engineering expertise at a senior level during EPC and Startup phases until handover to the permanent asset team, ensuring that project deliverables meet Operations expectations in terms of Safety, Operability, Reliability and Maintainability over the facility design life cycle.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide a variety of Control Engineering support to contribute to division strategy and goals, including design reviews, commissioning, start-up, failure analysis and advanced troubleshooting as part of punch list and warranty claim resolutions, and Management of Change.

2. Support development and implementation of surveillance and administration programs for critical Control Systems of new projects to achieve high standards of Reliability, Availability and Cyber Security.

3. Advise and support the definition and implementation of integrity programs for control equipment to achieve high standards of safety, reliability and availability.

4. Provide technical input related to area of expertise to other disciplines and functions as required to support overall business objectives.

5. Supervise and ensure effective completion of activities undertaken by contractors, consultants and service providers.

6. Guide less experienced engineers in implementing integrity and reliability systems.

7. Support and facilitate smooth completion of project tie-in requirements for all systems under the area of responsibility.

8. Maintain an Issue Register, identifying and resolving critical issues including new technology risks (under area of responsibility) which could impact project Reliability, Availability and Cyber Security. Prepare discipline handover packages for the operating company following start-up.

9. Support high-risk commissioning activities for complex and large-scale projects by undertaking stringent system surveillance, tuning and optimizing Control Systems, and providing advisory support to Operations and Maintenance.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent

Requirements

Knowledge and Experience
- 6 years' experience in an oil and gas environment

Technical and Business Skills
- Able to work and make decisions under highly stressful conditions
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Strong leadership and people skills
- Computer literacy involving the regular use of professional office and technical applications
- Senior Control Engineer level of competence as per Control Engineering Technical Competencies
