Overview
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Project Scheduler to support the successful delivery of large-scale commercial construction projects. This role is responsible for developing, managing, and communicating detailed project schedules from preconstruction through project completion.

Working closely with project managers, superintendents, design teams, subcontractors, and clients, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in line with project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Preconstruction Planning

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive preconstruction schedules covering design, estimating, procurement, permitting, approvals, and related activities
  • Coordinate project milestones and deliverables to support effective planning and execution
  • Ensure schedules align with project goals and stakeholder expectations

Bidding & Procurement

  • Prepare detailed construction schedules for tender submissions
  • Incorporate scheduling requirements into bid documentation
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings to review sequencing and scheduling expectations
  • Integrate permitting, procurement, site phasing, and authority approvals into project schedules

Construction Schedule Management

  • Develop and maintain detailed Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules using Primavera P6
  • Manage project schedules throughout construction, commissioning, and project close-out
  • Coordinate with subcontractors to refine schedules following contract award
  • Facilitate pull-planning sessions and Lean scheduling activities

Schedule Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor progress of procurement, submittals, shop drawings, and field activities
  • Update schedules regularly to reflect progress, delays, changes, and recovery plans
  • Analyse schedule performance and communicate risks or concerns to project teams and leadership
  • Support project teams in maintaining key milestones and improving project efficiency

Training & Continuous Improvement

  • Promote scheduling best practices across project teams
  • Assist with training and mentoring on scheduling software and project controls
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and internal scheduling development programmes

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience as a Project Scheduler with a commercial general contractor or construction management company, or equivalent scheduling experience as a Superintendent
  • Experience managing schedules for multiple large-scale commercial construction projects
  • Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud (Build), and Power BI
  • Strong understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM), cost-loaded scheduling, Lean scheduling, and construction sequencing
  • Comprehensive knowledge of commercial construction methods and project delivery processes
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Building Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Experience facilitating collaborative planning sessions and schedule recovery planning
  • Experience supporting projects from preconstruction through final completion
