Job Description
Role Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Technical Engineer to provide Project Management
Consultancy support on a major offshore facilities upgrade project, based in Abu Dhabi.
The position requires a strong project engineering or project management background,
combined with extensive experience working on Saudi Aramco projects and within an
Approved Offshore Contractor environment.
This is a multidiscipline role suited to an experienced engineering professional who can
provide technical oversight, coordinate engineering activities, monitor project controls and
ensure that engineering deliverables and construction activities are completed in accordance
with project specifications, Saudi Aramco standards and quality requirements.
Candidates may come from a mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, structural, piping or
other relevant engineering discipline, provided they possess broad project engineering
experience and are comfortable coordinating across multiple technical disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
 Provide technical and project engineering support across multidisciplinary
engineering activities.
 Coordinate between engineering disciplines, contractors, vendors, project
management and other project stakeholders.
 Review engineering documents, technical submissions, drawings, specifications,
calculations and contractor deliverables.
 Ensure engineering activities comply with Saudi Aramco standards, project
specifications, contractual requirements and applicable international codes.
 Monitor the progress and quality of engineering deliverables and identify potential
technical or schedule issues.
 Support the resolution of technical queries, design changes, site queries and
engineering interface issues.
 Coordinate technical activities between engineering, procurement, construction,
commissioning and project controls teams.
 Review contractor proposals, technical deviations, material submissions and vendor
documentation.
 Monitor project interfaces and ensure actions are assigned, tracked and closed within
the required timescales.
 Support project management with technical reporting, progress monitoring, risk
identification and corrective-action planning.
 Participate in engineering reviews, design reviews, constructability reviews, technical
meetings and project coordination meetings.

 Ensure that contractor and vendor work is completed to the required quality
standards.
 Support quality assurance and quality control activities relating to engineering and
project execution.
 Assist with the review and close-out of technical comments, punch-list items and
outstanding engineering actions.
 Provide technical input throughout the engineering, procurement, construction,
installation and commissioning phases of the project.
 Promote effective communication and coordination across the project team.
Candidate Requirements
 Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Structural, Civil, Piping
or another relevant engineering discipline.
 Significant experience in project engineering, technical engineering or project
management positions within the oil and gas industry.
 Extensive experience working on Saudi Aramco projects.
 Previous experience working for or alongside an Approved Offshore Contractor is
strongly preferred.
 Demonstrable experience in a PMC, EPC, engineering consultancy or clientrepresentative
environment.
 Broad multidisciplinary engineering knowledge and the ability to coordinate across
several engineering disciplines.
 Experience reviewing technical documentation and contractor engineering
deliverables.
 Strong understanding of engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning
project phases.
 Knowledge of Saudi Aramco engineering standards, procedures and project
execution requirements.
 Experience overseeing technical coordination, project controls and quality
compliance.
 Strong communication, coordination and stakeholder-management skills.
 Ability to identify technical risks, resolve engineering issues and drive actions through
to completion.
 Previous offshore, brownfield, facilities upgrade or modification project experience
would be advantageous.
 Experience on major offshore oil and gas developments, particularly Saudi Aramco
projects, would be highly desirable.
