Overview
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Project Scheduler to support the successful delivery of large-scale commercial construction projects. This role is responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining detailed project schedules throughout the entire project lifecycle, from preconstruction through to project completion.

The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, superintendents, design teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects remain on schedule while identifying risks, improving efficiency, and supporting effective project controls.

Key Responsibilities

Preconstruction Planning

  • Develop and maintain detailed preconstruction schedules covering design, estimating, procurement, permitting, and approvals
  • Coordinate schedule milestones with project teams to support effective planning and project execution
  • Ensure schedules align with project objectives and stakeholder expectations

Bidding & Procurement

  • Develop detailed construction schedules for tender submissions
  • Incorporate scheduling requirements into bid documentation
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings to communicate sequencing and schedule expectations
  • Integrate procurement, permitting, authority approvals, and site phasing into project schedules

Construction Scheduling

  • Develop and maintain detailed Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules using Primavera P6
  • Manage project schedules throughout construction, commissioning, and close-out
  • Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure schedule alignment after contract award
  • Facilitate pull-planning sessions and Lean scheduling activities

Schedule Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor engineering, procurement, shop drawings, submittals, and construction progress
  • Update schedules regularly to reflect project progress, changes, delays, and recovery plans
  • Analyse schedule impacts and communicate potential risks to project leadership
  • Support project teams in identifying opportunities to improve productivity and maintain key milestones

Training & Continuous Improvement

  • Support company scheduling standards and best practices
  • Assist in training project teams on scheduling software and project controls
  • Participate in internal scheduling improvement initiatives and knowledge sharing

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience as a Project Scheduler within commercial construction, or equivalent experience as a Superintendent with scheduling responsibilities
  • Experience managing multiple large-scale commercial construction projects simultaneously
  • Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud (Build), and Power BI
  • Strong understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling
  • Knowledge of cost-loaded scheduling, Lean construction principles, and construction sequencing
  • Good understanding of commercial construction methods and project delivery processes
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Building Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Experience supporting complex commercial construction projects from preconstruction through completion
  • Experience facilitating collaborative planning sessions and schedule recovery planning
