QC Engineer

Role Purpose

The QC Engineer will support the safe, controlled, and efficient delivery of complex energy engineering and construction activities from a Kuala Lumpur base, working across multidisciplinary office, fabrication, marine, and field interfaces as required. The role is accountable for reliable execution within its discipline, timely coordination with stakeholders, and maintenance of clear, auditable records.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and coordinate inspection activities to verify fabrication, construction, and installation work against approved requirements.
• Review inspection records, material traceability, test results, and punch-list close-out.
• Coordinate hold/witness points with relevant parties and raise non-conformances where required.
• Maintain complete, traceable QC records for handover.
• Coordinate inspections, ITP implementation, material traceability, test records, and punch-list closure.
• Support welding/NDT quality interfaces and compile turnover documentation.
• Participate in planning, coordination, and progress meetings and provide concise status, risk, and action updates.
• Apply document control, change management, and approval requirements and maintain records suitable for audit and handover.
• Work in accordance with applicable HSE, quality, ethics, and compliance requirements, escalating concerns promptly.

Qualifications & Experience

• Engineering or technical qualification with inspection/QC experience; familiarity with welding, NDT, and traceability is advantageous.
• Typically 3-7 years of relevant experience, adjusted for the complexity and seniority of the assignment.
• Experience in offshore energy, EPC/EPCIC, transportation and installation, fabrication, or marine construction environments is strongly preferred where relevant to the role.
• Strong written and spoken English; ability to work effectively in a multicultural, multidisciplinary environment.

Additional Requirements

• Based in Kuala Lumpur with flexibility to travel to yards, ports, vessels, offshore locations, or supplier premises when the assignment requires.
• Able to work to project deadlines and, where operationally necessary, support extended hours, mobilisation windows, or offshore rotations.
• Any offshore medical, safety training, professional certification, or competency requirement will depend on the final work scope and mobilisation location.
