Overview

A leading civil construction contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of infrastructure and site development projects. This role is ideal for a motivated construction professional with a strong background in managing public and private sector projects, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and driving projects to successful completion.

The successful candidate will be responsible for project planning, cost control, scheduling, subcontractor management, client relationships, and overall project performance while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple civil construction and site development projects from award through completion.

  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, cash flow, procurement activities, and resource planning.

  • Coordinate labour, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.

  • Monitor project performance to ensure cost, quality, and schedule objectives are achieved.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, value engineering, and operational efficiencies.

  • Review project costs, productivity, and performance metrics to support successful project outcomes.

  • Evaluate construction methods, resource requirements, and project execution strategies.

  • Manage subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with project specifications and contractual requirements.

  • Review project documentation, reports, and field records to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Support permitting activities and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and project requirements.

  • Maintain strong client relationships and support business development opportunities where appropriate.

  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all project activities.

  • Collaborate closely with field teams, project engineers, estimators, and senior leadership.

  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and support to project personnel.

  • Participate in project reviews, forecasting, and strategic planning activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience within civil construction.

  • Proven experience managing infrastructure, roadway, transportation, utility, or site development projects.

  • Experience overseeing multiple projects with responsibility for budget, schedule, and resource management.

  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, project controls, and cost management principles.

  • Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multidisciplinary project teams.

  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, and project execution.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Experience working on both public and private sector construction projects.

  • Knowledge of local permitting processes and regulatory requirements.

  • Experience with site development, roadway, utility, or infrastructure construction projects.
