Project Manager

Location: Helsinki, Finland

Work Style: Full-time, 40 hours per week, 5 days per week

Role Purpose

Lead the analysis phase of the Flex Forward project to establish a scalable energy-flexibility business in Finland. Coordinate solution analysis, business-case development, and implementation planning from project initiation through to an agreed way forward. Shape an approach that creates customer value, strengthens loyalty, and supports the transition from electricity sales to integrated energy services for B2C, SME, and smaller B2B customers. Connect business, IT, and other stakeholders while working with an international community of project managers and ways-of-working coaches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, drive, and report the project analysis phase.
  • Lead solution analysis and convert findings into clear recommendations and decisions.
  • Develop the business case, including key assumptions, value drivers, costs, and delivery considerations.
  • Prepare an actionable implementation plan for the proposed flexibility business.
  • Maintain control of agreed scope, timeline, and budget tracking.
  • Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions throughout the analysis phase.
  • Coordinate stakeholders and facilitate workshops with business, IT, and other relevant functions.
  • Prepare steering committee materials, status reports, and supporting project documentation.

Tasks

  • Create and maintain the analysis-phase project plan, milestones, and reporting cadence.
  • Organise and facilitate workshops to gather inputs, test options, and align stakeholders.
  • Coordinate solution-analysis contributions from business, IT, and subject-matter experts.
  • Consolidate findings into structured recommendations for the future flexibility offering and operating approach.
  • Develop and maintain business-case assumptions, supporting evidence, and financial inputs.
  • Translate the preferred solution into an implementation roadmap with actions, dependencies, and decision points.
  • Track progress, risks, issues, budget, and scope, escalating material concerns where required.
  • Maintain decision, action, and dependency logs and produce clear governance documentation.

Deliverables

  • Analysis-phase project plan, milestones, and status reporting.
  • Documented solution analysis with aligned recommendations.
  • Business case for a scalable flexibility business in Finland.
  • Implementation plan and roadmap covering key activities, dependencies, and decisions.
  • Steering committee packs, workshop outputs, and supporting project documentation.

Authority / Accountability

  • Own day-to-day delivery and governance of the project analysis phase.
  • Coordinate priorities, inputs, and actions across business, IT, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain transparent control of scope, schedule, budget, risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions.
  • Escalate material risks, unresolved dependencies, and decisions requiring steering committee direction.

Requirements

  • At least secondary-school education.
  • Senior-level project management experience, including leadership of analysis or definition phases.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, drive, and report complex projects.
  • Experience leading solution analysis, business-case development, and implementation planning.
  • Strong control of scope, timelines, budgets, and project governance.
  • Proven capability in managing risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions.
  • Confident workshop facilitator able to bring business and IT stakeholders together.
  • Strong stakeholder-management and written communication skills, including steering committee materials and status reports.
  • Able to work effectively in an international, cross-functional project environment.

Working Conditions

  • ASAP start, with the current assignment scheduled through to 31st March 2027.
  • Role based in Finland and connected to an international team of project managers and ways-of-working coaches.
