Production Project Engineer

Role Purpose

The Production Project Engineer will support the safe, controlled and efficient delivery of complex energy engineering and construction activities from a Kuala Lumpur base, working across multidisciplinary office, fabrication, marine and field interfaces as required. The role is accountable for reliable execution within its discipline, timely coordination with stakeholders, and maintenance of clear, auditable records.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering deliverables and interfaces to support fabrication, transportation, installation and completion.
• Track technical actions, design maturity, constructability and readiness against project priorities.
• Facilitate resolution of engineering queries and ensure approved changes are incorporated into controlled documents.
• Support technical reviews, vendor interfaces and project reporting.
• Provide engineering coordination focused on production readiness, fabrication throughput and efficient delivery of project work packs.
• Resolve production constraints and coordinate engineering inputs required by fabrication and construction teams.
• Participate in planning, coordination and progress meetings and provide concise status, risk and action updates.
• Apply document control, change management and approval requirements and maintain records suitable for audit and handover.
• Work in accordance with applicable HSE, quality, ethics and compliance requirements, escalating concerns promptly.

Qualifications & Experience

• Engineering degree with multidisciplinary project engineering experience in construction or energy environments.
• Typically 3-7 years of relevant experience, adjusted for the complexity and seniority of the assignment.
• Experience in offshore energy, EPC/EPCIC, transportation and installation, fabrication or marine construction environments is strongly preferred where relevant to the role.
• Strong written and spoken English; ability to work effectively in a multicultural, multidisciplinary environment.

Additional Requirements

• Based in Kuala Lumpur with flexibility to travel to yards, ports, vessels, offshore locations or supplier premises when the assignment requires.
• Able to work to project deadlines and, where operationally necessary, support extended hours, mobilisation windows or offshore rotations.
• Any offshore medical, safety training, professional certification or competency requirement will depend on the final work scope and mobilisation location.
