Kintec are currently partnered with a leading Integrated Energy Company. They are currently recruiting for Offshore Well Engineering Manager to be based in St. John's, Newfoundland Canada.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

Lead offshore well engineering and design to enable safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of well programs. Oversee campaign planning and budget development while establishing and maintaining the Well Management philosophy and system. Collaborate across disciplines to support well operations, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and business objectives.

SCOPE/COMPLEXITY

  • Supports and monitors the well execution activities.
  • Includes life cycle considerations in the well design including interventions, WO's and abandonment.
  • Identification and communication of risk within planned and unplanned operations.
  • Accountable for selecting suitable equipment and developing procedures together with the equipment manufacturers for assembly and operation.
  • Co-ordination of equipment improvements and equipment selection.
  • Accountable for communication and management of work of key service personnel
  • Champions improvement initiatives and shares with other business units
  • Accountable for monitoring management of change
  • Accountable for capturing and implementing lessons learned from one program to another.
  • Identify rig modifications required for installation of subsea equipment and completions.
  • Participation in the development/implementation of engineering/technical support processes that ensures Environmental and regulatory compliance.
  • Responsible for his team's competence and training.
  • Close coordination with operations (FPSO) and RMT to ensure adequate procedures and processes are in place, as well as proper well handovers.
  • Value and utilize engineering/application of cost-effective technology and software (e.g. SMART wells).
  • Authorized to stop work or initiate testing to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Empowered to act immediately to protect people, environment, assets, and reputation.
  • Advises Offshore Wells Director on emerging issues and recommends solutions.
  • Applies judgment and experience to resolve complex, non-standard problems.
  • Ensures engineering programs and procedures are in place and effectively implemented.

SKILL/ KNOWLEDGE           

  • Deep expertise in subsea, drilling, completions, and abandonment engineering.
  • Strong understanding of offshore equipment and services: wireline, slickline, fluids, well testing, fishing, completion recovery, abandonment and remedial.
  • Familiarity with NORSOK D-010, Newfoundland and Labrador regulations
  • Experience with large bore Xmas trees is essential
  • Experience in floating installations with the use of large bore (7 1/16" or larger) subsea test trees, CTLF/WTLF, surface flow trees
  • Knowledge of subsea productions systems, interfaces and controls.
  • Skilled in service company oversight, contract negotiation, and technical/commercial evaluations.
  • Proficient in planning, cost control, logistics, documentation, and engineering software.
  • Experienced in leading multidisciplinary teams and applying lessons learned across campaigns.
  • Documentation procedures & implementation
  • Experience with Well Management Companies

MINIMUM OF 15 YEARS' EXPERIENCE AND PROVEN SKILLS IN

  • Excellent interpersonal skills - must be able to communicate at all levels and deliver through a team.
  • Team building/participation, delivering through a team.
  • Leadership of engineering & integrated teams (10+)
  • Decision and Risk analysis.
  • Completions engineering software expertise.
  • Responsible for planning of well interventions, WO's, and abandonments and support operations.
  • Influences capital decisions exceeding $100M in equipment and services.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance and engineering quality across offshore programs.
  • Manages engineering team performance and resource planning.
  • Ensures preparation and presentation of all project milestones (Gates)
