The Opportunity
An experienced OFCI Manager is required to join a major data centre project in Sweden. This senior project delivery role covers the full lifecycle of Owner Furnished, Contractor Installed (OFCI) equipment, from procurement and engineering coordination through to logistics, delivery, installation, and commissioning. The OFCI Manager will act as the key interface between the client, client-appointed vendors, project teams, and installation contractors, ensuring OFCI packages are delivered safely, on programme, to the required quality standards, and fully integrated with the wider construction and commissioning programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for the coordination and delivery of OFCI equipment packages throughout the project lifecycle.
- Act as the primary point of contact between client-appointed vendors, subcontractors, the client, and the wider project delivery team.
- Lead and coordinate the OFCI team, ensuring equipment packages are properly engineered, planned, coordinated, and delivered.
- Manage the lifecycle of OFCI packages from procurement and vendor coordination through to delivery, installation, and commissioning.
- Ensure OFCI activities are fully integrated into the overall project programme and construction sequence.
- Work closely with engineering, planning, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure all interfaces are identified and effectively managed.
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to monitor progress, delivery dates, installation activities, and commissioning requirements.
- Lead regular coordination and progress meetings with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal project stakeholders.
- Monitor OFCI programme performance and identify potential delays, risks, and interface issues at an early stage.
- Develop and implement appropriate mitigation strategies to maintain programme and minimise project risk.
- Ensure vendor-supplied equipment complies with approved technical specifications, project requirements, quality standards, and applicable safety requirements.
- Review technical documentation and ensure all necessary information is available to support installation and commissioning activities.
- Coordinate equipment logistics, including delivery planning, site access, storage, and readiness for installation.
- Ensure OFCI equipment is delivered to site in line with the construction programme and installation requirements.
- Support the resolution of technical, commercial, and contractual issues relating to OFCI packages.
- Provide technical and operational guidance to the project team where issues or disputes arise.
- Monitor installation and commissioning readiness, ensuring outstanding actions are tracked through to completion.
- Maintain accurate progress reporting and provide regular updates to the project management team.
- Work collaboratively with the wider project team to ensure successful integration of OFCI equipment into the completed facility.
- Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with project health, safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
- Maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality and ensure client and project information is handled in accordance with project requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years' experience within an M&E contractor, main contractor, or similar project delivery environment.
- Proven experience delivering complex M&E, data centre, mission-critical, or large-scale industrial projects.
- Strong understanding of the OFCI / Owner Furnished Contractor Installed delivery model.
- Experience managing equipment packages from procurement and vendor coordination through to installation and commissioning.
- Strong understanding of engineering interfaces, construction sequencing, and project delivery.
- Experience working with clients, equipment vendors, subcontractors, and multiple project stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and coordinate multiple workstreams through to successful completion.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify project risks and proactively develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced project environment.
- Competent with relevant engineering, project management, and reporting software.
- Strong understanding of health, safety, quality, and compliance requirements within major construction projects.
- Previous data centre or other mission-critical experience is highly desirable.
