Installation Lead
Location: Kuala Lumpur, MalaysiaSector: Energy engineering & construction

Role Purpose
The Installation Lead will lead and coordinate the safe, controlled, and efficient delivery of complex energy engineering and construction activities from a Kuala Lumpur base, working across multidisciplinary office, fabrication, marine, and field interfaces as required. The role carries accountability for reliable execution within its discipline, timely coordination with stakeholders, and maintenance of clear, auditable records.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead safe, efficient execution of offshore installation activities in accordance with approved engineering and marine procedures.
- Coordinate vessels, equipment, personnel, interfaces, and readiness reviews before and during offshore campaigns.
- Drive resolution of operational and technical issues while protecting schedule, quality, and HSE requirements.
- Ensure installation records, lessons learned, and close-out documentation are completed to the required standard.
- Direct a defined installation scope or workfront and coordinate engineering, marine, and offshore execution teams.
- Lead readiness reviews, daily execution planning, and operational problem solving.
- Participate in planning, coordination, and progress meetings and provide concise status, risk, and action updates.
- Apply document control, change management, and approval requirements and maintain records suitable for audit and handover.
- Work in accordance with applicable HSE, quality, ethics, and compliance requirements, escalating concerns promptly.
Qualifications & Experience
- Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification with substantial offshore construction and installation experience.
- Typically 8+ years of relevant experience, including leadership of complex interfaces or work scopes.
- Experience in offshore energy, EPC/EPCIC, transportation and installation, fabrication, or marine construction environments is strongly preferred where relevant to the role.
- Strong written and spoken English; ability to work effectively in a multicultural, multidisciplinary environment.

Additional Requirements
- Based in Kuala Lumpur with flexibility to travel to yards, ports, vessels, offshore locations, or supplier premises when the assignment requires.
- Able to work to project deadlines and, where operationally necessary, support extended hours, mobilisation windows, or offshore rotations.
- Any offshore medical, safety training, professional certification, or competency requirement will depend on the final work scope and mobilisation location.
