Head of Engineering (Instrument and Control)

Location: Doha, Qatar (Onshore)
Contract Duration: 36 Months
Rotation: 12 Weeks On / 2 Weeks Off
Working Pattern: 26 Days per Month

Overview
An opportunity is available for an experienced Instrumentation & Control Engineer to support a major onshore LNG project in Qatar. The role involves providing engineering input across design, construction, and commissioning activities within a large-scale LNG facility environment.

The successful candidate will support safe, reliable, and compliant delivery of instrumentation and control systems while working within multidisciplinary project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Instrumentation & Control engineering support across design, construction, and commissioning phases
  • Review engineering deliverables, technical documentation, and contractor submissions for compliance with project specifications and standards
  • Support execution of instrumentation and control system design for LNG facilities and utility systems
  • Provide technical guidance during installation, testing, commissioning, and start-up activities
  • Ensure compliance with international codes, standards, and project safety requirements
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including process, mechanical, electrical, and operations teams
  • Support resolution of technical issues and site queries during project execution
  • Participate in design reviews, technical workshops, and project coordination meetings
  • Support contractor oversight and ensure alignment with engineering requirements
  • Assist with system completion, commissioning preparation, and handover activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Instrumentation & Control engineering roles
  • At least 6 years of experience within the oil and gas industry
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience or oversight of contractors, vendors, or service personnel
  • Experience in major LNG projects preferred
  • Strong knowledge of engineering execution, design standards, codes, and specifications
  • Experience with onshore LNG facilities and utility systems design, construction, and operations
  • Strong understanding of safety requirements in industrial project environments
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary and multicultural teams
  • Strong communication and coordination skills

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience on large-scale LNG projects
  • GCC or Middle East project experience
  • Exposure to EPC environments and commissioning activities
  • Experience working with international engineering standards and client specifications

  • Long-term onshore assignment based in Doha, Qatar
  • Rotational working arrangement with extended offshore-style rotation pattern
  • Suitable for candidates experienced in large LNG facility development projects
  • Immediate availability or short notice preferred where possible
