Development Engineer
Location: Qatar OnshoreContract Type: Contract
Key Responsibilities
- Manage project initiation, feasibility, and early concept optimization studies for development projects.
- Collaborate with development, project engineering, and operations teams on study strategies and plans.
- Develop and manage project schedules and costs, including contract management and handling changes and variations for studies.
- Oversee the review and finalization of study deliverables, communicate performance, implement lessons learned, and participate in audits and reviews.
- Manage the transition of projects during and after studies to project engineering, supporting engineering definition, operational requirements, construction activities, operational readiness, assurance processes, commissioning, start-up, handover, and close-outs.
- Identify threats, opportunities, and constraints to projects, and evaluate risk mitigations.
- Identify and evaluate new technologies and support pilot projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical, Chemical, or Petroleum Engineering.
- 15+ years of direct experience in engineering, project management, and execution of oil & gas projects.
- Experience in upstream facility mechanical/process design principles such as multiphase flow, separator/pump/compressor capacity evaluation, pipe/valve sizing, and hydraulic analysis.
- Knowledge of process engineering, hydraulic modelling, and supporting software.
- Strong planning and organization skills, with the ability to work independently, prioritize activities, meet deadlines, and manage time effectively in a dynamic work environment.
