Job Purpose:
To perform a wide range of duties relating to the mechanical installation, repair, and maintenance of machinery, equipment, and fixtures to ensure their efficient operation at minimum downtime, complying with EHS Guidelines, with a focus on continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tackle all mechanical equipment breakdowns and planned/preventive/predictive maintenance work with minimum direction and supervision within the given time constraint, minimizing production downtime.
- Technically assess the requirements of allocated jobs and select the necessary tools and equipment to complete the work.
- Ensure all maintenance work is carried out in accordance with safety procedures and plant operational requirements.
- Use the computerized maintenance system (SAP) to order spare parts from the warehouse and maintain records of all maintenance work completed.
- Monitor any repeated breakdowns and recommend or complete proper modifications to resolve the problem.
- Identify and report any abnormalities; initiate repairs, replacements, tests, or assemble worn-out or failed components/parts. Report to supervisor and take necessary action to overhaul or replace parts, leaving the working area clean.
- Perform various works related to welding and fabrication.
- Mentor newly joined mechanics to equip them with the plant and equipment knowledge necessary to carry out maintenance work.
- Continuously work towards improving EHS and Plant & Equipment Performance by participating in all BE activities such as Suggestion Scheme, 5S, Hazard Reporting, TAMAHAL/PEER, etc.
- Assist other departments in the repair and troubleshooting of equipment.
- Input data into maintenance management systems for works and manning records.
- Fulfil day or shift duties with a team of Technicians, Craftsmen, or Contractors as assigned by Supervisor.
- Perform all PM's, running inspections, and checklists on a daily basis as issued per maintenance planning requirements.
- Perform other related duties as communicated by supervisor or technician.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Diploma in relevant field
- Completion of PEC Craft Training
Minimum Experience:
- 3 years of relevant experience in a heavy industry after Diploma
- No experience required after completion of PEC Training
Skills:
- Good working knowledge of written and spoken English
- Must be familiar with all maintenance tools with good computer skills
- Exposure to installation and troubleshooting
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, manuals, and instructions
