Working Location: Dubai
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend to all instrument and control equipment breakdowns and planned, preventive, and predictive maintenance work with minimum direction and supervision within the given time constraint to minimize production downtime.
- Technically assess the requirements of allocated jobs and select the necessary tools and equipment to complete such work.
- Diagnose instrument and control breakdowns/failures effectively and troubleshoot failures of plant and equipment with minimal direction.
- Complete all maintenance work in accordance with safety procedures, maintenance plans, and plant operational requirements.
- Achieve all equipment calibrations as per the schedule and business requirements.
- Use computerized maintenance systems to order necessary spare parts from warehouse and maintain records of all maintenance work completed.
- Monitor any repeated breakdowns and recommend proper modifications to resolve problems and complete the required modifications.
- Provide guidance to newly joined instrument mechanics to familiarize them with the plant and share the necessary knowledge for them to be fully equipped to carry out maintenance work.
- Continuously work towards improving EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) and Plant & Equipment Performance by participating in business excellence activities such as Suggestion Scheme, 5S, Hazard Reporting, TAMAHAL, RCFA, Kaizen, etc.
- Identify and report any abnormalities, initiate repair or replacement of worn out or failed components or parts, and leave the work area clean.
- Assist other departments in the repair and troubleshooting of failed equipment.
- Perform other related duties as communicated by supervisors or technicians.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Diploma in the relevant field
- Completion of PEC Craft Training
Minimum Experience:
- 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a smelter environment or in a heavy industrial set-up after the Diploma
- No experience required after completion of PEC Training
Skills:
- Good knowledge of written and spoken English
- Familiarity with all maintenance tools and basic computer knowledge
- Exposure to installation, troubleshooting, and instrument calibration
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, manuals, and instructions
- Knowledge in the maintenance and troubleshooting of PLC Control Systems
