Job Title: Technician - Electrical

Job Purpose:
To perform a wide range of duties relating to the electrical installation, repair, maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery, equipment and fixtures to ensure their efficient operation at minimum downtime while complying with EHS Guidelines and focusing on continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend to all electrical equipment breakdowns such as LV-MV motors, LV Switchboards, MCCs, Plant lightings, Transformers, UPS, VFD, Breakers, Soft starter, etc. Also, carry out planned/preventive/predictive maintenance work with minimum direction and supervision.
- Identify and report any abnormalities. Repair and/or replace required items, reassemble and test equipment, and leave the working area clean.
- Technically assess the requirements of allocated jobs and select the necessary tools and equipment to complete the work.
- Diagnose electrical breakdowns/failures effectively and troubleshoot electrical failures of plant and equipment with minimal or no direction.
- Use computerized maintenance systems to order spare parts from the warehouse and maintain records of all maintenance work completed.
- Ensure all maintenance work is carried out in accordance with safety procedures and plant operational requirements.
- Monitor repeated breakdowns and recommend proper modifications to resolve problems.
- Provide plant and equipment knowledge to newly joined electricians and craft trainees, as well as contractors, to assist them in carrying out maintenance work.
- Continuously work towards improving EHS and Plant & Equipment Performance by participating in 5S, Business Excellence, and Safety Initiatives.
- Perform other related duties as communicated by Supervisor/Superior.
- Assist other departments in the repair and troubleshooting of equipment.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Diploma in a relevant field.
- Completion of PEC Craft Training.
Minimum Experience:
- 3 years of relevant experience in a heavy industry after Diploma.
- No experience required after completion of PEC Training.
Skills:
- Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
- Familiar with all maintenance tools and good IT knowledge.
- Experience in installation and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, manuals, and instructions.
