Job Title: Technician - Electrical

Job Purpose:
To perform a wide range of duties relating to the electrical installation, repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of machinery, equipment, and fixtures to ensure their efficient operation with minimum downtime, complying with EHS Guidelines and focusing on continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend to all electrical equipment breakdowns such as LV-MV motors, LV Switchboards, MCCs, Plant lighting, Transformers, UPS, VFD, Breakers, Soft starters, etc. Carry out planned, preventive, or predictive maintenance work with minimal direction and supervision.
- Identify and report abnormalities. Repair and/or replace items as required, reassemble and test equipment, ensuring the work area is clean.
- Technically assess job requirements and select necessary tools and equipment.
- Diagnose electrical breakdowns and failures; efficiently troubleshoot equipment with minimal or no direction.
- Use a computerized maintenance system (SAP) to order spare parts and maintain records of all maintenance work completed.
- Ensure all maintenance work is carried out in accordance with safety procedures and plant operational requirements.
- Monitor repeated breakdowns and recommend modifications to resolve issues.
- Provide plant and equipment knowledge to new electricians and craft trainees, as well as contractors, to assist in their maintenance work.
- Continuously strive to improve EHS and Plant & Equipment Performance by participating in 5S, Business Excellence, and Safety Initiatives.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by Supervisor/Superior.
- Assist other departments in the repair and troubleshooting of equipment.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Diploma in relevant field.
- Completion of PEC Craft Training.
Minimum Experience:
- 3 years of relevant experience in a heavy industry after Diploma.
- No experience required after completion of PEC Training.
Skills:
- Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
- Familiarity with maintenance tools and strong IT knowledge.
- Experience in installation and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, manuals, and instructions.
