Superintendent - Structural / Superintendent (Fabrication)

Primary Purpose of the Job and Anticipated Deliverables

Role Overview:
Execute detailed fabrication and erection services related to structural and piping disciplines. Assign structural and piping teams, monitor the performance of direct manpower, foremen, and supervisors, and ensure quality and safety requirements are met as per project specifications on site. Liaise with various departments to ensure effective execution of works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee fabrication and erection of jacket structures.
  • Responsible for piles, boat landing, riser guards, riser, and J-tubes.
  • Supervise topside and modules fabrication and erection.
  • Manage bridges and flare structure completion.
  • Handle topside piping spools and pipe supports.
  • Oversee brownfield fabrication, including deck extension, pancakes, and modules.
  • Supervise subsea spool and subsea sleeper fabrication.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of HSE, quality, and work procedures.
  • Implement quality and safety procedures at the site.
  • Accountable for overall site execution activities.
  • Liaise with multiple departments to execute works efficiently.
  • Coordinate with the engineering team for engineering deliverables.
  • Coordinate with the QC department for inspection activities.
  • Work with the painting department regarding coating and paint application.
  • Allocate work based on schedules and priorities.
  • Serve as a link between site and engineering office activities.
  • Ensure adequate manpower, equipment, and resources for successful project completion.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure optimal production aligning with quality procedures and method statements.
  • Coordinate all engineering, technical, and quality issues.
  • Ensure foremen execute work in alignment with safety requirements, specifications, drawings, and schedules.
  • Confirm that sufficient materials are available for the work scope.
  • Manage load-out activities.
  • Continuously monitor work progress and team performance.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Display leadership, teamwork, and capability to coach, guide, and motivate subordinates.

Requirements

  • Diploma or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proficiency in English (speaking and writing).
  • Computer skills with MS Excel and Word.
  • Familiarity with email communications.
  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in offshore fabrication activities in the oil and gas sector (including jacket, pile, boat landing, topside decks, bridges, piping, and pipe supports).
