Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Trade Finance Officer to manage and oversee complex trade finance operations including Letters of Credit (LCs), Guarantees (BGs), and documentary collections. The successful candidate will ensure full regulatory and policy compliance while supporting clients across international trade transactions and mitigating associated risks.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of trade finance operations: LCs, BGs, trade loans, and collections.
  • Ensure strict compliance with UCP 600, Incoterms, OFAC sanctions, and relevant banking regulations.
  • Review and negotiate trade finance documents and contracts for legal, operational, and compliance accuracy.
  • Liaise with corporate clients, correspondent banks, and trade service providers to facilitate seamless transactions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (compliance, legal, risk, treasury) to assess and mitigate transaction risks.
  • Monitor transactional flows, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely settlement.
  • Analyze trade finance trends and recommend improvements in service delivery or product offerings.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior trade finance team members.
  • Prepare reports and present trade finance KPIs and analytics to senior management.
  • Represent the institution at industry events and contribute to business development efforts.

     

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or similar professional certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years' total experience, with at least 3 years in trade finance, and 2 years in the GCC preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantees, documentary collections, and trade finance facilities.
  • Strong understanding of international trade practices, risk mitigation, and banking compliance frameworks.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably SAP (Trade Finance/Treasury modules).
