Lead Pump Equipment Engineer - Permanent Expat Opportunity - Middle East
A global operator in the energy sector is seeking an experienced lead pump equipment engineer to join its team in the Middle East. This permanent expatriate role offers a tax-free salary and a comprehensive benefits package for individuals or families interested in a long-term overseas assignment.

Responsibilities

Conduct detailed technical evaluations of existing pump systems and provide recommendations for improvement or corrective action

Offer engineering support for capital projects involving pumps and seal systems, spanning all phases from pre-feasibility to detailed design

Apply hydraulic modeling and system simulation tools to assess and optimize pump and piping system performance

Participate in cross-functional taskforces investigating equipment failures or addressing critical operational issues

Champion a culture of knowledge sharing by mentoring junior engineers and promoting engineering awareness both internally and externally

Identify and integrate innovative technologies aimed at improving reliability, availability, and performance of pumping systems

Deliver hands-on troubleshooting and develop creative, technically sound solutions to complex problems with appropriate risk evaluation

Serve as a subject matter expert and mentor, guiding the development of less experienced engineering professionals
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from a recognised institution; a master’s degree is advantageous

At least 20 years of experience in the oil and gas sector with a strong emphasis on rotating machinery, particularly pumps and pumping systems

Strong technical background in analyzing, troubleshooting, and optimizing pump operations and related mechanical components

Familiarity with engineering standards, best practices, and failure analysis methodologies relevant to pump technologies

Industry-recognised certifications related to vibration analysis or mechanical integrity are preferred

Willingness and ability to travel locally and internationally based on project needs

Strong interpersonal, mentoring, and communication skills to work effectively in diverse technical teams
