Roofing Superintendent
Location: Astoria, Queens / New York City project sitesEmployment Type: Permanent
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise roofing crews and subcontractors across active project sites
- Plan daily manpower, sequencing, and production
- Coordinate material deliveries, equipment, and site logistics
- Ensure roofing installations meet drawings, specifications, and manufacturer requirements
- Monitor workmanship, productivity, and project schedules
- Maintain OSHA, fall-protection, and jobsite safety standards
- Coordinate with Project Managers, General Contractors, consultants, and other trades
- Identify field issues early and communicate changes or additional work to the office
- Assist with inspections, punch lists, and project closeout
- Support Saturday work where required by project schedules
Required Experience
- Strong commercial roofing field background
- Prior experience as a Roofing Superintendent, Field Supervisor, or senior Roofing Foreman
- Hands-on knowledge of commercial roofing systems such as TPO, EPDM, PVC, modified bitumen, SBS, BUR, and related waterproofing systems
- Proven experience supervising roofing crews and managing field production
- Ability to read roofing drawings, details, and specifications
- Strong understanding of jobsite safety, fall protection, and OSHA requirements
- Valid driver's license preferred
- NYC SST / OSHA certifications strongly preferred
