Contract Type: One (1) year initial contract with a possibility of extension
Work Location: Onshore (Ras Laffan/Doha HQ)
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide a variety of Machinery Control Engineering support in the areas of GE, CCC, DCS, DLN tuning, etc., contributing to the division strategy and goals. This includes design reviews, studies, commissioning, start-up, failure analysis, advanced troubleshooting as part of punch list and warranty claim resolutions, and Management of Change.
2. Review, validate, and support the development of advanced machinery control schemes for machines and their drivers (Gas turbine, Steam turbine and variable frequency drives for motor) of new projects to achieve high standards of Reliability, Availability, and Cyber Security.
3. Review and develop testing procedures like surge tests, DLN tuning, Machine Test Runs, and performance tuning for turbo machinery systems and DCS controls for machineries.
4. Support Factory Acceptance Tests and review performance test results of machines. Validate machinery performance with theoretical calculation and compare to OEM performance maps and actual performance at site.
5. Develop plans and work schedules to ensure effective completion of tasks and activities, meeting the section and division KPIs.
6. Provide technical inputs related to area of expertise to other disciplines and functions as per requirements to support overall business objectives, with a key focus on process and machine interactions.
7. Control and supervise the activities undertaken by contractors, consultants, and service providers.
8. Guide less experienced engineers in implementing company integrity and reliability systems.
9. Maintain an Issue Register identifying and resolving critical issues, including new technology risks (under area of responsibility) which could impact new project Reliability, Availability, and Cyber Security. Prepare discipline handover packages for the operating company following start-up.
10. Support high-risk commissioning activities for highly complex and large-scale projects by undertaking stringent system surveillance, tuning and optimizing machinery control systems, and providing advisory support to Operations and Maintenance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Science majoring in Engineering in the area of specialization.
- 8 years' experience in the area of specialization within the Oil and Gas industry.
- Expert-level knowledge in machinery control systems and schemes such as GE, CCC, DCS, and DLN tuning.
- Ability to work and make decisions under highly stressful conditions.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Strong leadership and people skills.
- Computer literacy involving the regular use of professional office and technical applications.
