Responsibilities

  • Provide Technical Support Across Various Instrumentation Systems, Including Pressure, Temperature, Level, Flow Devices, Control Valves, Relief Devices, Motor-Operated Valves, And Safety Shutdown Systems

  • Lead Or Contribute To Engineering Studies Aimed At Optimizing Technical Solutions, Improving Safety, And Enhancing Process Efficiency While Reducing Operational Costs

  • Participate In Or Lead Task Forces Investigating Incidents And Resolving Complex Engineering Challenges

  • Assist In The Development And Maintenance Of Engineering Standards, Specifications, Procedures, And Best Practices Aligned With Global Industry Benchmarks

  • Assess The Technical Capabilities Of External Suppliers And Service Providers

  • Act As A Technical Representative In Discussions With Equipment Manufacturers, Engineering Firms, And Vendors

  • Conduct Technical Reviews And Evaluations Of Instrumentation Bids And Participate In Bid Assessment Meetings

  • Monitor Emerging Technologies And Global Best Practices To Improve Performance Across Oil And Gas Operations

  • Perform Cost And Value Engineering Studies To Recommend Cost-Efficient Technical Solutions

  • Contribute Technical Expertise To Process Safety Reviews Such As HAZOPs And Safety Integrity Level (SIL) Assessments

  • Provide Technical Training And Guidance To Junior Engineers As Part Of Professional Development Programs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree In Engineering, Ideally In Instrumentation, Electrical, Or Mechanical Disciplines (An Advanced Degree Is Advantageous)

  • At Least 20 Years Of Hands-On Engineering Experience In Instrumentation Within The Oil And Gas Sector

  • Expertise In Specifying And Sizing Field Instrumentation Such As Valves, Actuators, And Sensors

  • Recognised Industry Certifications (Such As Chartered Engineer Status) Are Preferred

  • Strong Knowledge Of Industry Standards, Including API, IEC, ISA, ASME, And Others

  • Experience In Safety And Control System Reviews, Including P&ID, HAZOP, SIL, And Design Audits

  • Familiarity With Field Communication Protocols
