Lead Electronics Specialist - Permanent Expat Opportunity - Middle East
A global operator in the energy sector is seeking an experienced lead electronics specialist to join its team in the Middle East. This permanent expatriate role offers a tax-free salary and a comprehensive benefits package for individuals or families interested in a long-term overseas assignment.

Responsibilities

Provide expert engineering support on motors and generators to field operations including refineries, gas processing facilities, and terminals as needed

Develop and maintain internal engineering procedures, technical guidelines, and best practices related to electrical rotating equipment

Contribute to international standards development committees when opportunities arise, helping shape industry-wide practices

Offer expert consultation during the design phases of capital projects, including the review of engineering packages and attendance at project review sessions both locally and internationally

Evaluate and introduce emerging technologies aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, reliability, and profitability

Represent the company in technical discussions with equipment manufacturers, vendors, and engineering firms, offering subject matter expertise as required

Perform peer reviews of technical documentation, including third-party reports, design reviews, technology assessments, and engineering standards

Actively mentor junior engineers and support their technical development through knowledge sharing and guidance
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university; a master’s or higher-level engineering qualification is a strong advantage

Professional certification or licensure such as a Professional Engineer (PE) is highly desirable

At least 20 years of experience in the electrical engineering field, with a strong focus on motors and generators

Demonstrated expertise in the sizing, construction, commissioning, and troubleshooting of high-voltage rotating electrical equipment

Hands-on experience with factory acceptance testing and diagnostic assessments of motors and generators

Strong understanding of international codes and standards related to electrical machinery and power systems

Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and with external stakeholders
