Electrical & Instrumentation Technician

Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and instrumentation (E&I) equipment across process and packaging plant.
- Complete planned and preventative maintenance on schedule and record work in the CMMS.
- Support DCS, SIS, PLC, and Aspen systems and their connected devices and networks.
- Work safely to permits, isolations, COSHH, risk assessments, and SOPs.
- Supervise and lead small contractor teams during shutdowns.
- Participate in RCA, RCM, LEAN, PHA, and PSSR activities.
- Help develop maintenance procedures, method statements, and troubleshooting guides.
- Support spares specification and storeroom inventory control.
Requirements
- HNC in Instrumentation and/or Control Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience in the chemical or allied process industries.
- Strong instrumentation knowledge including calibration and fault-finding.
- Knowledge of electrical power systems including VSDs, MCCs, transformers, and substations up to 10kV.
- Understanding of ladder logic and first-line PLC and DCS maintenance.
- Working knowledge of DSEAR / ATEX and hazardous area installations.
- Confident reading technical drawings and data sheets.
