EHS & Permit to Work Supervisor – Rotterdam, Netherlands
A leading green hydrogen production company is seeking an experienced EHS & Permit to Work Supervisor to support the safe execution of a major energy project in Rotterdam (Botlek). This is a residential position with an annually renewable contract, providing the opportunity to contribute to a world-class project during its construction and mechanical completion phases.
Schedule: 5 days per week, 10 hours per day
Location: Botlek, Rotterdam, Netherlands
Responsibilities

Provide EHS leadership and Permit to Work (PTW) coordination support to the project site team

Promote the application of corporate EHS processes to improve safety culture and project performance

Support the Project EHS Manager and Project Manager in implementing site-level health, safety, and environmental plans

Facilitate risk assessments and ensure correct execution of PTW systems, including associated processes such as LOTO, confined space entry, IRR, and SIMOPS

Coach and train site personnel and contractors on EHS expectations and PTW procedures

Monitor contractor compliance with EHS and PTW requirements, and ensure effective implementation of control measures

Collaborate with the PDO EHS group to align site activities with company-wide best practices and lessons learned

Participate actively in EHS meetings and ensure effective engagement during simultaneous operations (SIMOPS)

Serve as a visible and credible EHS representative on site, building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an EHS-related field or equivalent EHS qualification

Proven track record in EHS supervision and PTW coordination, preferably on large-scale construction projects

Solid understanding of EHS management systems and construction site safety processes

Strong knowledge of applicable standards including OSHA, Dutch law, EPA, and industry-specific regulations

Familiarity with construction operations and associated hazards, including rotating equipment and electrical isolation

Proficiency in reading P&IDs and single-line diagrams

Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written)

Strong interpersonal, influencing, and leadership skills, with the ability to drive cultural change in safety performance

Able to work under pressure in dynamic and complex environments, independently or as part of a team
