Drilling Supervisor (Onshore)
Location: Dukhan, QatarContract Type: 6 months
Rotation: 28/28 (28 days on, 28 days off)
Work Schedule: Rig-based, on call 24 hours per day during rotation
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the onshore drilling/workover rig representative, responsible for all operations on the rig.
- Ensure operations are performed safely, without injury to personnel or damage to the rig, well, or environment.
- Maintain safety and well integrity at all times, ensuring compliance with drilling reference manuals and corporate HSE requirements.
- Plan and prioritize activities, allocate resources, and ensure well objectives are achieved on time and within budget.
- Provide clear written instructions to the Drilling Contractor Toolpusher, Service Personnel, and Night Supervisor prior to specific operations.
Requirements
- BSc. in an Engineering discipline or equivalent (Petroleum Engineering preferred).
- IWCF Certified at Supervisor Level.
- Minimum 15 years' experience in drilling operations, including at least 8 years as an Onshore Drilling Supervisor.
- At least 5 years' experience with a major international or national oil company in a similar position.
- Strong knowledge of process safety related to drilling operations and a proactive approach to managing HSE.
- Experience in drilling high deviated and horizontal wells.
- Experience in workover operations, fishing, recovering old completions, cement squeeze, and section milling.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with good awareness of cultural sensitivities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated commitment and passion for managing HSE.
- High energy and enthusiasm for delivering outstanding performance.
- Ability to make correct operational decisions based on systematic analysis and attention to detail.
- Ability to coach and support the development of local national staff.
Preferred Experience and Expertise
- Knowledge and experience with high H2S operations.
- Experience with simultaneous production operations (SIMOPS).
- Familiarity with intervention programs for safety.
- Experience using open wells reporting systems.
