Overview

We are seeking an experienced Offshore HSE Superintendent to support offshore operations and ensure the effective implementation of health, safety, and environmental management systems across project activities.

The successful candidate will provide HSE leadership offshore, support contractor compliance, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and promote a strong safety culture throughout all operational activities.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Activities

  • Attend daily HSE and operational coordination meetings.

  • Support offshore HSE Supervisors and provide guidance on safety-related matters.

  • Conduct routine site inspections and safety patrols.

  • Monitor and follow up on observations, actions, and safety concerns raised offshore.

  • Participate in daily operational and coordination meetings.

  • Prepare and submit daily HSE reports and safety performance updates.

Weekly Activities

  • Lead weekly HSE meetings with contractors and offshore personnel.

  • Conduct weekly HSE inspections and safety tours.

  • Monitor implementation of HSE campaigns, initiatives, and awareness programs.

  • Participate in vessel and offshore facility inspections.

  • Deliver HSE presentations and safety communications during workforce meetings.

  • Maintain and update HSE reporting systems, records, and documentation.

  • Review contractor HSE performance and key safety indicators.

  • Monitor training compliance and competency requirements for offshore personnel.

  • Verify completion and close-out of corrective actions and improvement initiatives.

  • Review contractor safety observations, intervention records, and reporting systems.

  • Verify emergency drills are conducted and documented as required.

  • Participate in toolbox talks and safety briefings to ensure quality and effectiveness.

  • Monitor PPE availability and offshore safety equipment inventories.

Monthly Activities

  • Lead monthly HSE committee meetings and ensure follow-up actions are tracked to completion.

  • Review contractor HSE performance reports and key performance indicators.

  • Review and challenge contractor HSE plans and monthly safety programmes.

  • Monitor contractor PPE management and stock control processes.

  • Maintain records relating to HSE recognition and safety award programmes.

  • Support management reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Recognised HSE certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent.

  • Significant experience in offshore oil and gas operations.

  • Previous experience in an HSE leadership or supervisory role.

  • Strong knowledge of offshore HSE regulations, standards, and industry best practices.

  • Experience managing contractor HSE performance and compliance.

  • Knowledge of emergency response, incident investigation, risk assessment, and safety management systems.

  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to influence positive safety behaviours across multicultural workforces.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and HSE reporting systems.
