Structural / Fabrication Superintendent
Onshore Yard, Qatar - Oil & Gas Fabrication
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Structural / Fabrication Superintendent to oversee the fabrication and erection of offshore structures and piping systems. This role involves managing a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring safety and quality compliance, and coordinating across departments to deliver complex fabrication projects on time and to specification.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all structural and piping fabrication and erection activities.
- Manage and monitor the performance of direct manpower, foremen, and supervisors.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and safety standards.
- Plan and allocate work based on schedules and priorities.
- Oversee fabrication of jackets, piles, boat landings, riser guards, risers, J-tubes, topsides, modules, bridges, and flares.
- Manage brownfield and subsea fabrication activities, including deck extensions, modules, spools, and sleepers.
- Coordinate with the engineering, QC, and painting departments for smooth execution and inspection.
- Liaise with other project teams to ensure engineering deliverables and material availability.
- Monitor work progress and take corrective action to maintain productivity and quality.
- Ensure implementation of all site safety and quality procedures.
- Support load-out activities and site preparation as required.
- Maintain effective communication and foster teamwork among site staff.
Requirements
- Diploma or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 5-10 years' experience in oil and gas fabrication, particularly offshore structures such as jackets, piles, decks, bridges, and topsides.
- Strong understanding of HSE, quality control, and fabrication work procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; capable of effective email communication.
- Good leadership, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
