Senior Project Engineer
Location: Ras Laffan, QatarContract Type: Contract
Job Purpose
Conduct the overall planning, management, and execution of multiple Brownfield modification and retrofit projects while adhering to Safety, Health and Environment (SHE), Quality, Cost, Schedule, Business Controls, and regulatory requirements related to offshore and onshore facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in and execute project strategy and plans, co-review contractors' SHE plans, and participate in safety walks and audits.
- Identify safety issues and resolutions, participate in safety-incident investigations, and ensure proper monitoring of contractor safety performance and programs.
- Support project concept selection and planning, develop project objectives and strategies, capital efficiency, cost and schedule estimates, and project development documentation.
- Lead Front End Engineering Design (FEED) activities, converting technical and operational requirements into basic engineering deliverables for tender documents, and lead the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) phase.
- Ensure correct application of Brownfield project planning and execution, interface management, quality management, and risk engineering to ensure projects meet technical requirements.
- Review construction strategies, assess contractor performance, identify remedial actions, and ensure proper execution of onshore and offshore shutdown and non-shutdown construction activities.
- Coordinate schedule estimates, define activity breakdowns, analyze schedules and critical paths, and develop mitigation or reserve plans against risks and constraints.
- Review project resources and cost estimates, develop contingency plans, and benchmark against historical data and industry norms.
- Compile, track, and forecast cost and schedule trends, identify mitigation plans, and initiate approval processes for additional funding or extensions of time as needed.
- Review and support approvals of Invitations to Tender (ITT), manage equipment-vendor prequalification and selection, ensuring all standards and requirements are met.
- Ensure all activities comply with company Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality policies, regulations, and standards.
- Contribute to the development of local national employees.
- Ensure all activities comply with anti-trust and competition laws and company firewall policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 8 years' experience in a project execution environment with broad experience in projects, engineering, and operations.
- Recent experience working in the field on Brownfield projects, simultaneous operations (SIMOPS), and debottlenecking of operating facilities.
- Advanced computer literacy with strong knowledge of relevant engineering software tools and systems.
- High level of proficiency in written and spoken English.
