Overview
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical / Piping Engineer to provide technical engineering support across LNG and oil & gas projects. The role involves mechanical and piping design, project management support, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely, high-quality delivery in compliance with standards and project requirements.
Reporting & Interfaces
- Reports to: Lead Mechanical Engineer
- Internal: Engineering & Projects teams, HSE&Q, operations leadership
- External: EPC contractors, industrial city authorities, third-party companies, occasional interaction with shareholders and government bodies
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct mechanical and piping design engineering in accordance with regulatory requirements, project specifications, and approved variations
- Resolve engineering issues and communicate with project execution teams; escalate as needed
- Develop, update, and implement policies and procedures for the Projects Management Department
- Support external engineering teams and contractors to ensure alignment with project objectives and standards
- Evaluate complex engineering tasks and provide recommendations to management
- Apply project philosophies, procedures, and standards in specification, design, and procurement of piping items
- Ensure compliance with project management systems and processes; prepare plans and schedules to ensure timely project completion
- Monitor and guide FEED, EPC contractors, and third-party services to ensure work meets project scope, standards, schedule, and budget
- Support other engineers in complex analyses and provide technical expertise to meet project schedules
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Piping Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 6 years of relevant oil & gas experience, with at least 4 years in a project management team role
- Professional engineering competence or equivalent is preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Proficient in relevant engineering software tools and systems
- Knowledge of national and international codes, standards, and specifications relevant to mechanical and piping design
- Strong problem-solving, planning, communication, and team collaboration skills
- Understanding of SHE (safety, health, environment) principles and quality standards
