Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Senior HSE Advisor to join a leading team within the renewable energy sector. This role will involve working closely with managers, supervisors, employees, and contractors to promote safe work practices, ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations, and proactively address potential hazards.
As the Senior HSE Advisor, you will play a key role in creating a culture of safety, driving risk management initiatives, and supporting the development and implementation of HSE systems, policies, and processes. Your ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders while applying your expertise in HSE practices will be essential in ensuring the safety and compliance of the project.
Key Responsibilities:

Promote a proactive HSE culture by leading by example and engaging with teams to raise awareness, share knowledge, and implement lessons learned.

Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of HSE management systems, policies, and procedures.

Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections, audits, and compliance checks to ensure regulatory adherence.

Lead safety meetings, Toolbox Talks, safety walks, and inspections.

Perform incident investigations, root cause analysis, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.

Coordinate safety induction programmes and deliver HSE training sessions to all stakeholders.

Monitor, track, and report on HSE performance using the company’s incident reporting and tracking system.

Liaise with contractors to improve safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE regulations.

Act as a subject matter expert for all HSE-related matters, providing guidance and support to all team members.

Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices, ensuring compliance across all operational activities.

Prepare and deliver regular HSE reports to senior management, highlighting key trends, incidents, and areas for improvement.
Key Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in HSE, ideally in onshore renewable energy or offshore wind farm construction projects.

Relevant academic or technical background.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels.

Proficient in the use of IT tools, including Microsoft Office; knowledge of Synergi is an advantage.

Demonstrable experience in conducting incident investigations, root cause analysis, and risk assessments.

Completed NEBOSH (minimum level 3) or a similar recognised HSE qualification.

In date site safety passport (CCNSG or CSCS).

Current UK driver’s licence.

Knowledge of the CDM Regulations 2015 and relevant safety regulations.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

Degree or Diploma in QHSE or a related field.

NEBOSH or IEMA Environmental Management qualifications.

Certified Auditor.

Experience in delivering training courses and materials.

Previous experience in a similar role within the renewable energy sector is beneficial.

Working Conditions and Location:

Initially based onshore at the site office in Kirmington (Humberside Airport).
-
As offshore works commence, the role will include both onshore and offshore responsibilities.

The normal shift pattern for onshore works is Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day.

Some flexibility for occasional home working may be available, subject to project management approval.

Occasional travel for meetings, including international trips, may be required.
