Job Title: Senior Contract Engineer

Location: Doha, Qatar

Contract Type: 12-month contract (renewable)

Work Schedule: Full-time, 5 days a week (single status)

Overview

We are supporting a leading player in the energy sector with the recruitment of a Senior Contract Engineer for a long-term assignment based in Doha. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full contracting process, from initial technical scope through to post-award execution, ensuring alignment with company procedures and compliance standards.

This role suits an experienced professional with strong commercial acumen, excellent knowledge of procurement processes, and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full contract lifecycle, from request validation to execution.
  • Ensure requests are suitable and complete before progressing to tender phase.
  • Prepare and issue RFQs, call for tenders, and prequalifications where needed.
  • Lead offer evaluations in collaboration with technical teams.
  • Participate in HSE, technical clarifications, and lead contractual/commercial negotiations.
  • Draft and issue contract award recommendations and contractual documentation.
  • Ensure proper use of procurement systems for all sourcing activities.
  • Monitor compliance with contractual policies, legal standards, and transparency requirements.
  • Maintain accurate contract filing and approval documentation.
  • Coordinate contract execution follow-up with contract holders.
  • Organise and contribute to contract committee documentation.
  • Promote best practices and continuous improvement in contract optimisation.
  • Actively support procurement team objectives and asset integrity initiatives.
  • Observe and promote company HSE policies and ISO14001 standards throughout procurement activities.

     

Requirements

  • Proven experience in contract engineering within the oil & gas or energy sector.
  • Strong understanding of procurement and contracting procedures.
  • Familiarity with enterprise procurement platforms (e.g., SAP or equivalent).
  • Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
  • Strong commitment to HSE standards and contract compliance.
  • Based in or willing to relocate to Doha, Qatar (single status role).
