Sales Engineer – Home Based (UK-Wide Travel)
Location: Remote, with travel to customers across the UK
We’re representing a fast-growing industrial solutions company that’s expanding its UK footprint and scaling operations over the next few years. As part of this growth, they’re seeking a technically minded Sales Engineer to lead business development within the calibration gases sector.
This role blends technical expertise with a consultative sales approach — ideal for someone who enjoys solving customer challenges while driving commercial growth. You’ll be supporting clients across industrial, environmental, and laboratory markets, helping them enhance performance, accuracy, and safety through cutting-edge gas application technologies.
Key Responsibilities

Identify and secure new business opportunities within the calibration gas sector

Build and maintain relationships with key customers, OEMs, and distribution partners

Assess client processes and propose bespoke calibration gas solutions for gas detection, emissions monitoring, and analytical equipment

Prepare commercial proposals, ROI cases, and value-driven presentations

Coordinate product trials, demonstrations, and commissioning with technical teams

Collaborate with R&D and operations teams to align innovation with customer needs

Monitor market trends, competitor developments, and emerging technologies in gas analysis and instrumentation
About You

Proven experience in sales engineering, business development, or technical applications within calibration gases, gas detection, or analytical instrumentation

Understanding of gas mixtures, cylinder handling, and gas delivery systems

Strong commercial awareness and customer-focused mindset

Confident communicator who thrives on autonomy and relationship-building

Engineering or science background (Chemical, Mechanical, or Process preferred) — equivalent technical experience also considered
