Role Overview

As a Risk Engineer, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor to high-profile clients within the Power and Renewables sector. This is a client-facing, field-based role with travel to client sites and facilities across the UK and occasionally Europe.

Your primary focus will be conducting technical risk assessments, loss estimation analyses, and benchmarking, particularly with gas and steam turbine systems. Your ability to build strong client relationships, deliver insights, and provide strategic risk management support is essential.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform risk engineering surveys for power generation and renewable energy clients.

  • Assess operations involving gas and steam turbines, identifying risks, estimating losses, and providing practical mitigation advice.

  • Deliver technical training, benchmarking exercises, and client workshops on operational risk and engineering best practices.

  • Develop clear, insightful risk reports and communicate findings to stakeholders at all levels – from engineers to senior executives.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technologies, industry trends, and regulatory standards within the power and renewables sector.

  • Build long-term client relationships, becoming a trusted technical advisor.

  • Work collaboratively with underwriters, claims specialists, and internal stakeholders to support business development and client service.


Requirements

  • Fluent French speaker – essential for communication with international clients.

  • Strong background in power generation – ideally as an engineer or technical consultant in gas/steam turbine environments.

  • Significant experience in risk engineering, loss prevention, or technical consulting.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and guide clients at all levels.

  • Willingness to travel as needed for site visits and client engagements.

  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) preferred.
