Role Overview

The QA/QC Engineer - Civil is responsible for leading and managing civil quality assurance and control activities for offshore process platforms and subsea pipelines. This includes inspection, testing, and verification of all construction, fabrication, and offshore installation activities, while ensuring compliance with project specifications, international codes, and QA/QC standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all works undertaken by contractors, subcontractors, vendors, manufacturers, service providers, and third-party inspection agencies comply with project specifications, international codes, standards, and QA/QC requirements
  • Monitor and ensure proper implementation of approved project QA/QC documentation, including quality plans, inspection and test plans (ITPs), quality control procedures, and checklists
  • Lead and coordinate a team of QC inspectors across fabrication, site construction, and offshore installation activities
  • Monitor contractor/vendor adherence to approved quality requirements and address any deficiencies
  • Act as focal point for resolution of site or shop-related quality issues in consultation with senior quality management
  • Control and follow-up on technical deviations, material substitutions, and changes to inspection and test requirements
  • Initiate and monitor Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented and closed
  • Ensure contractors/vendors prepare, manage, and maintain proper inspection and test records, and compile test packs and dossiers for project submission
  • Provide daily reporting on QA/QC status to senior quality management

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • CSWIP 3.2 / AWS Senior Welding Inspector (CWI) or BGAS-CSWIP Grade 1 or NACE Level II qualification with at least 2 years post-certification experience
  • NDT Level II in RT and UT (or equivalent as per project standards)
  • Certified QMS Lead Auditor (ISO 9001:2015) with at least 2 years post-training experience
  • Minimum 15 years' experience as a QA/QC engineer or client representative in offshore process platforms / subsea pipelines, including manufacturing, fabrication, construction, and offshore installation
  • Hands-on knowledge of sour services, cladded piping, CRA pipelines, welding, NDT, repair works, painting, coating, internal lining, and Monel sheathing
  • Strong leadership and team management skills for multidiscipline QC inspector teams
  • Excellent understanding of international codes, standards, and QA/QC practices for offshore and subsea projects
