Job Title: Power System Engineer - PSCAD/PowerFactory

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Job Description
- The consultant will support projects at various phases by conducting studies. Scope includes:
- Create and validate EMT and RMS models for relevant assets (e.g., WTG, PPC, STATCOM, as applicable).
- Plan and execute design and Grid Code compliance studies, small disturbances and fault scenarios.
- Draft clear, audit-ready technical documentation for internal review and external compliance; contribute to grid-connection workstreams.
- Interface with OEMs on model provisioning, validation and parameterization.
- Summarise findings, recommend mitigations, and ensure quality in line with company standards across multiple projects.
Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical/Power Systems Engineering (BEng/MSc/PhD) or equivalent.
- At least 5 years' hands-on experience with PSCAD for EMT studies, including applicable add-ons and analysis modules, plus required experience with DIgSILENT PowerFactory covering steady-state and RMS analyses.
- Experience working with vendor models and parameterization for compliance.
- Scripting/automation skills for workflows and post-processing.
- Experience coordinating with OEMs for model delivery, validation, and updates. strong data confidentiality practices
- Strong communication skills; able to produce clear reports and stakeholder materials.
- Ability to work independently while following company's established methodologies, documentation standards, and QA processes.
Nice to Have (Optional)
- Experience with National Grid ESO EMT guidelines and evidence requirements.
- Experience with grid‑forming controls or advanced STATCOM functionalities.
