Job Title: Plant Manager
Job Summary:
The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily operations of the plant, from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed. They develop processes that maximize productivity, quality, safety, and profitability, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day operations of the plant.
Increase production, assets capacity, and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.
Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions when needed.
Share a trusting relationship with the workforce and manage and develop plant staff.
Collect and analyse production and performance data to drive improvements.
Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and labour regulations.
Stay up to date with the latest production management best practices and concepts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, or a related field
Proven experience as a Plant Manager or in a similar managerial role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, and human resources).
Familiarity with industry-standard equipment and technical expertise.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
Experience in the last 5 years dealing with unions is essential
Work Environment:
- Primarily on-site in a manufacturing or production facility.
Requires occasional evening or weekend work depending on production demands.
