Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Onshore Construction Lead (Structures) to oversee and manage the fabrication of onshore brownfield structures for a major oil and gas project. This position requires a focus on ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of construction activities while maintaining close collaboration with contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage the execution of onshore brownfield structures fabrication to ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
  2. Supervise and control the activities of contractors and subcontractors involved in structure fabrication, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases.
  3. Ensure compliance with project documentation, international standards, and contractual requirements.
  4. Oversee constructability aspects and ensure alignment with technical requirements of the deliverables provided by the engineering team.
  5. Review deviations from construction standards and collaborate with contractors to resolve issues and maintain consistency.
  6. Identify areas of concern regarding progress or quality, recommending corrective actions as necessary.
  7. Review contractor progress reports and highlight critical issues, drifts, or dysfunctions in activities.
  8. Liaise with contractors and subcontractors to ensure accurate reporting and follow-up on the progress of structure-related tasks.
  9. Participate in risk assessments, pre-job meetings, and technical meetings as required.
  10. Contribute to lessons learned and post-project reviews to improve future processes.

     

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in large-scale oil and gas construction projects, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in construction, installation, fabrication, and execution phases of projects, including completion, hook-up, and brownfield execution.
  • Familiarity with design standards, safety criteria, and technical requirements related to fabrication and installation processes.

     

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Experience working with oil and gas companies, contractors, and service vendors in the construction sector.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication, transport, installation, and execution methods, particularly in brownfield environments.
  • Knowledge of risks and execution methods associated with LNG and sour gas production facilities.
  • Experience in offshore and onshore facility construction, including operations in both environments.
  • Proven track record of managing projects and coordinating multiple teams to achieve project objectives.

     

Technical and Business Skills:

  • Strong technical and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and manage both internal and external teams.
  • Proficiency in project management and construction planning software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
