Location: El Morell, Tarragona, Spain
Contract Duration: 18 Months (with potential for extension)
Contract Type: Residential
Shift Pattern: 8 hours per day, 5 days a week (Mon-Fri)

Job Overview

As the Site Quality Manager, you will lead the quality control efforts on-site for a major green hydrogen production project, ensuring all activities adhere to project-specific quality standards, regulations, and best practices. This role involves managing the Site Quality team, overseeing quality inspections and audits, and maintaining strict adherence to quality procedures throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Site Quality team and ensure the successful implementation of the site quality control program.

  • Establish and monitor a multi-discipline quality program, ensuring all project procedures are followed.

  • Supervise Quality personnel who perform audits, inspections, surveillance, and testing activities.

  • Train site personnel on the quality control program and ensure full knowledge of specifications and work procedures.

  • Formulate project quality policies and ensure proper generation and approval of quality procedures.

  • Review and approve construction contractors’ Quality programs before work commencement.

  • Perform regular surveillance of contractors and suppliers to ensure conformance to procurement and design requirements.

  • Ensure quality records and documents are prepared and maintained according to standards.

  • Control nonconforming work activities using the non-conformance control procedure, assisting in resolution when issues arise.

  • Provide guidance and direction to inspection and testing personnel to ensure quality standards are met.

  • Lead the implementation and monitoring of inspection and test plans, modifying them as needed.

  • Review results from inspections, testing, and surveillance to ensure they comply with project requirements.

  • Maintain files of inspection, examination, and test documents.

  • Identify and maintain quality records required for Final Handover.

  • Prepare and submit periodic reports to management on QA/QC activities, concerns, and project quality statistics.

  • Represent the Client in all QA/QC matters, engaging with contractors and subcontractors.

  • Approve commitments and invoicing from contractors, within the limits of assignment.

Key Safety & Quality Responsibilities

  • Stay updated on Client Safety Policies and Procedures and ensure all work activities are performed in a safe manner.

  • Supervise others on-site, ensuring compliance with Safety Policies and promoting safe work practices.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Language Skills: Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written).

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a quality control management role within construction or engineering projects, particularly in large-scale industrial or energy projects.

  • Education: Relevant technical qualification in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Special Requirements: Proven experience working with multi-discipline teams in dynamic and fast-paced project environments.

  • Industry Experience: Experience in green hydrogen production, energy, or similar sectors is highly desirable.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and direct a team effectively.

  • In-depth knowledge of quality control standards, procedures, and project management practices.

  • Ability to manage nonconformance issues and implement corrective actions.

  • Solid experience with project quality management software and maintaining quality records.

  • Strong problem-solving ability with an attention to detail.
