Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Offshore Structural Engineer to join an engineering team based in Hampshire on a 12-month fixed-term basis. The role offers exposure to a wide range of offshore energy projects, covering early-phase engineering through to execution and decommissioning support, with flexible hybrid working.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support offshore structural engineering activities across feasibility, FEED, troubleshooting, and decommissioning phases

  • Design metallic offshore structures, including fixed platforms and floating topsides, and develop finite element analysis (FEA) models

  • Design offshore foundation elements, including piles and mud mats

  • Assess and re-design existing offshore structures, including life-extension studies and inspection planning

  • Prepare technical documentation such as engineering reports, specifications, and scopes of work

  • Provide technical input to drawings and attend multidisciplinary coordination meetings

  • Work closely with internal engineering teams and other disciplines throughout project delivery

  • Liaise with clients, shipyards, contractors, and certification bodies as required

  • Ensure all work complies with applicable offshore design standards and company HSEQ requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree-qualified in Civil, Structural, or Offshore Engineering (or equivalent)

  • Experience delivering offshore structural engineering scopes within oil & gas or offshore energy projects

  • Familiarity with structural analysis and finite element modelling

  • Experience using DNVGL SESAM or ANSYS is advantageous

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Effective communication and coordination skills

  • Ability to work within multidisciplinary project teams
